Food System and Control

Food System and Control
A system is made up of four stages; input, process, output and feedback.

The input starts the system, the process is the way the system changes, the output is the end result and the feedback is used to control the system by checking that the output is what is needed.

Making a cake is a system.
*The input is the ingredients for the cake.

*The process is mixing and baking the cake.

*The output is a baked cake the changes the system brings to the finished product.

*The feedback is not test if the cake is properly cooked and a good quality. If not, changes in the system are needed such as baking the cake for longer.

When making any food product, systems need to be controlled, to make sure that the product is safe to eat and of good quality.
